Walks for your mind
Scroll down for this year's local group meets around Peterborough & Stamford, and Escape to the Hills events
What to expect
Led by me, a qualified psychotherapist and experienced professional hillwalker, these group walks are a safe and confidential space to meet others with a shared love of the outdoors and /or walking.
You will have the chance to talk and share with others if you feel you want to, but also to just listen without judgement. We will all discuss and agree a confidentiality contract at the start.
I will offer guidance for mindfulness and stress relief in nature along the way. There will also be moments of quiet, for reflection or just to de-stress and appreciate the natural surroundings. It's a chance to take a some time for yourself for once!

Castor to Alwalton Valentine's walk
Saturday 14th February 2026
Distance: approx 8.5km (5.2 miles)
Time: 3 hours approx
Terrain: grassy tracks, riverside and lakeside paths, country park. This time of year can be a bit muddy!
Maximum participants: 10
Cost: £12
The Walk
There's just something about being near rivers and lakes that's good for the soul. Join me in getting out whatever the weather to show the outdoors and yourself some love on Valentine's Day. With the promise of spring, we will hope for some sunshine to lift our spirits as we walk from Castor to Alwalton along the river Nene, through meadows, quaint villages, and back through Ferry Meadows, past Nene Valley Railway and on lakeside paths. It could be a bit muddy, but there are options for some firmer tracks and paths on this walk if there has been a lot of rain.
How to confirm your space
Firstly, please make sure that you are fit and capable to walk 8.5km / 5 miles off road at a reasonable pace.
Spaces are limited so please send me a message and you will receive a welcome email and details of how to pay to confirm your place.
"I love this walk to Alwalton from Castor. Ferry Meadows and Nene Park is the jewel in Peterborough's crown, but we will get away from the crowds and into the lovely surrounding countryside, nearly always accompanied by the rivers and lakes of the Nene." - Jenna, Walk leader & Psychotherapist
